Slow Start

I've been meaning to blog about the allotment for a few years, believe I started one once, can't find where it's hiding so time to start afresh.

I'm now in the 4th year of the plot. I had a half plot for the first year which was an overgrown mess, just about had that one clear when the other half came free complete with a dilapidated shed.

Over the next couple of years I cleared bindweed, ground elder, brambles, nettles and couch grass using carpet mulches, painstaking inch by inch root removal potato suffocation and sweat.

This year has been frustrating and slow. Found a folder of pictures taken last year mid May that I posted on Facebook and growth was further on than it is in June this year. It reminded me of why I was going to blog. To keep a personal record for myself and also to share what I learn as I grow.
